About Real Life Ministries
Leading people into Real Life with Jesus.
Developing people to go impact the world for Jesus Christ. We will be a church that cultivates disciples in relational environments. Using the message and method of Jesus Christ, we will follow His model to share, connect, equip to minister and release people to disciple others. We believe that Jesus established the New Testament church to continue the ministry he began while he was here on earth. We will follow Jesus’ method as we share Jesus’ message.
We are learning to listen to the Holy Spirit through daily disciplines of scripture and prayer. We believe that in the Spirit we have everything we need for life and godliness, for He is our source of wisdom and power. We accept that we cannot accomplish our mission in our own strength – none of us can “be Jesus” to anyone – but through the Spirit we can lead and love others to Jesus.
We are learning to share everyday life with each other in deepening community, revealing where we struggle and expecting others to point us back to the Gospel. We embrace our limitations without excusing them. We develop accountable relationships to help each other obey what Jesus commanded.
Jesus told us not to identify which neighbors to serve, but to be a neighbor to everyone we meet (Luke 10:25-37). Therefore we pray for opportunities to know and love the lost as Jesus did for us. We identify specific needs in our city God is calling us to meet, and we invite our neighbors to join us in serving and blessing our city.
Nobody has more to celebrate than those who follow Jesus; we recognize that the Gospel is good news to every part of everyday life – physical, relational, social and spiritual. Therefore we revel in our calling to “bring the better wine” to celebrations in our city by blessing and serving and sharing the love of Jesus at parties we host and parties we attend. We know that the joy of the Lord is our strength! (Nehemiah 8:10)
We know that God is filling the earth with the knowledge of his glory (Habakkuk 2:14), and that Christ in us is the hope of the world (Colossians 1:27). Therefore, as individuals and in community, we take every opportunity to make much of Jesus and his love in everyday life. We recognize that exalting God is accomplished both in how we live and in what we say. (Colossians 3:17, James 2:14-19)
We believe in the traditional creeds and confessions of the people of Jesus Christ, of which the Nicene Creed (381 A.D.) is foundational:
We believe in one God, the Father, Ruler of all, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And we believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten from the Father before all time; Light, from Light, true God from true God; begotten, not made; of the same essence as the Father, through Whom all things were made; Who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, and was made a man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried, and rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended to heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; His kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son, Who is worshiped and glorified together with the Father and Son, and Who spoke through the Prophets.
And we believe that there is one holy, universal and apostolic church. We confess one baptism for the remission of sins, and we look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
We are also in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message;
